The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Seems like I'm out of Hiatus....well, kind of.
Thing is I haven't been very art inspired lately 'cause of undergoing torture otherwise known as exams >_< But now that I have time it seems that I can't think of anything to draw ;______; I know, as an artist I should be able to just have patience, but..I NEED TO DRAW! orz

And having no ideas isn't the only problem I'm having at the mo...it's GIMP. On my gimp, when I try to open a picture it doesn't work, saying that the file is broken...;_____; I really wanna re-download it, but that would mean I'll be loosing all of my brushes, and another thing is that the file might not even be able to open because of the brushes that are missing. Sucks >_<
Another problem that I've got with mine is that the layers tab and all the others in that docking tab don't seem to work. Meaning that even though my work has 20 layers it doesn't show any layers at all, and is blank. The undo history is the same >_<
So...meh Dx

I don't know whether I should start using photoshop and abandon GIMP? I mean, lately the problems with GIMP is just piling up and really getting on my nerves .__. But I only have Photoshop Elements, not the actual cool version that everyone else seems to be using >_< So it's either fix the problem with GIMP, or just use Photoshop Elements. What do you guys think?

but then I began using Photoshop and I liked it much better ^w^

uhmmm... check if your opacity is set to 100% or if both; brush settings and layer settings are set to normal... *shrug*
