The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

To be honest I’m not really in a good mood today…
Friendship. It’s an important thing in life, right? When you are close friends with someone you’ll stick to them, not sneak around their backs and slowly removing them from your life. It hurts; a real blow to the stomach, a stab in the back.
Some of my friends regard me as an innocent being, angelic, someone easy to be hurt but easy to help people…I just want to understand, that’s all, of why people hurt one another? Why do friends hurt their friends? Is there any reason for this all? Friendship should be the thing that binds us, not drive us apart to a point that we grow sad…
So I’m going to be commenting and supporting all of my watchers, because I want to be there for you, just as I want to be cared for in return. Let’s build up our friendship once more

Ah... Betrayal... I've seen that once in my life... It sure was heartwrenching just watching helplessly from the sidelines especially when one don't even know the details. Yes, I saw my friend being betrayed right under my nose and I didn't even know it or rather... I wasn't there. Maybe those friends PRETENDED to be her friend then casted her away when she was useless but still I felt ashamed for myself, who could do nothing except give her a crying shoulder that time. I guess that's what changed me in middle school.

I'm a BIG friend person even though most don't know it. Be it advice, or something else, I'd gladly help out (needless to say these are NON-criminal acts

). I understand where you're coming from and I agree with 'Friendship should be the thing that binds us, not drive us apart to a point that we grow sad…' I don't know the other person's reasons for betraying the trust you put in them but they surely shouldn't betray it nonetheless by backstabbing or isolating you. Any TRUE friend would know better.
Alas I'm randomly ranting once more... (I see I've been doing this a lot lately... must be because of one of my grandmother's passing...) Anyways, do cheer up. I'm sure you'll find others who uphold their "Friendship".
