It looks like a really crap quality when it's small, so full view please.
Yesh, this is a picture for merry ol' halloween xD It is my favourite times of year (apart from my birthday and christmas) so I wanted to draw something for it. Originally I intended to do a vampire, but....well, I have enough of drawing anime vampires (thanks to my friend, Charli, whom I drew three vampire pictures for) so I thought: why not a witch?
But I hated those witch costumes in the dress up stores; you know, the green worty noses and shizzle. I wanted my witch to be pretty! Hopefully she did turn out pretty (*prays that she does*).
I tried many different things with this one. One of them was the light of the moon around her, making her appear 'glowy'. I so wanted to do this effect for a long time, but only now did I manage to actually have the chance to do it.
Also, the way I shaded the clothes. I created three seperate layers: one for the base, second for the dark, then third for the lightness. I am rather proud of how organised I was for this picture.
This picture is for a halloween contest, because I really wanted to do it a contest entry ^_^ This picture, I hope, would be different from the others as it shows when the witch is getting ready to go to trick or treat, rather then doing trick or treating. I wanted just to be different ^_^
And for the first time in a long time, I have some meanings for this picture!
Okay, let's start with the hands. Her right (our left) has SIX fingers! o.O Bet you didn't notice that. Now I did this because I was trying to connect with Anne Boleyn, who was King Henry's second wife. She was accused of witchcraft because on one hand she had six fingers.
The colour purple! Purple is often portrayed as a mysterious colour, and I think it goes extremely well with this picture for Halloween. It is a mysterious night afterall xD
The colour of her hair, red. Red reflects the devily side of this person, and also her adventurous side.
And,..that's all I can think of at the mo >.<
